Entertainment Technology & Sports Summer Camp

The video game, media and entertainment industries offer a rich variety of career paths that are among the most profitable globally!  There is a growing need for talented creators and designers in this fast paced, “High Tech” world!
Fit Kids of America offers an innovative program for students seeking advanced technology skills that lead to rewarding careers. The Summer program takes our participants on a journey of exploration as they discover the amazing world of STEM disciplines and become modern day innovators who are changing the world through their use of technology and programming. Every session has creative themes to inspire them while practicing: Robotics, Gaming, Coding, the use of coding languages like Python, Ruby, Scratch, Virtual game and graphic design, animation, and the world of drones.
The camp’s activities will help students to develop their abilities at systems thinking, an essential foundation for better understanding technology, build self-confidence and leadership skills.
Throughout the Summer participants will work in groups to plan and produce 1 short film that will be celebrated and featured in a screening open to CREW, FACULTY, FAMILY AND FRIENDS. They will also create their own original game concept into a playable digital prototype. The DVDs of their creations are theirs to keep.

 Team sports are at the heart of our programs. We are committed and have dedicated the past twenty years to providing opportunities for youth to build knowledge, skills, and habits that will establish a solid foundation for lifelong health and wellness.
Social Emotional Learning: self-confidence, a sense of psychological wellbeing, enjoyment and stress reduction are all strengthened through Sports and Physical Fitness Activities.  By way of our PE Curriculum SPARK, the Summer Program offers an extensive variety of specialized youth fitness training and team sports activities designed to boost, strengthen and increase:

• Cardiovascular endurance
• Gross motor function
• Cooperative Play
• Interpersonal relationships
• Motivation
• Goal setting
• Leadership skills
• Team Sports Include: Basketball, Soccer, Softball, Flag Football, Field Hockey & Volleyball

In addition, participants will explore an ample variety of professional careers found in the world of sports, such as: Physical Education Teachers, Coaches, Athletic Trainers, Exercise Physiologist, Kinesiology, Physical Therapist, Sports Nutrition, and more!

The camp is limited to 60 campers and will give its participants in grades 6-12 a unique opportunity to receive hands on instruction in the fields of technology and sports.

The 60 participants will receive:

• 1 Gym Bag
• 1 Pedometer to monitor and measure distance and caloric expenditure
• 1 Workout Log to document personal goals and achievements
• 1 Customized USB flash drive with the original work they produced throughout the summer.
